Privacy Policy

GamerHub ("we", "our", or "us") provides this Privacy Policy to describe our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information through the GamerHub Chrome Extension (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Local-First Architecture

We adhere to a strict local-first architecture. GamerHub does not create user accounts on external servers, nor do we track your browsing history.

• Local Storage: All user preferences, friend lists, tracked items, and API keys are stored only on your device — using the browser's chrome.storage.local API together with the extension pages' own local storage. Nothing is synced to us.
• No User-Data Backend: We do not operate any backend that stores personal user data. Our only server-side component is a proxy worker (listed in Section 3) that forwards public price data and Faceit statistics lookups and does not retain your query contents.

2. Data We Access and Why

• Steam Session (steamLoginSecure, sessionid): used solely to derive your own SteamID64 locally, so the extension can load your inventory, friends, and match history. The sessionid value is sent only back to steamcommunity.com itself — to paginate your own match history, and to list one of your own items on the Market only when you explicitly click "Quick Sell" (with confirmation first).
• Steam Web API Key (optional, entered by you): stored locally and used only to query api.steampowered.com for you and the friends you track.
• Identifiers: your SteamID, tracked friends' SteamIDs, Faceit nicknames, and item market-hash names — sent only to the services in Section 3, only as needed for the feature you used.
• On-device only: preferences, price caches, notifications, and replay files never leave your device.

3. Third-Party Services

The extension fetches data directly from the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Valve / Steam: api.steampowered.com, steamcommunity.com, plus Steam image CDNs used solely to display item, game, and profile images.
• Faceit statistics via our proxy worker, which forwards your lookup to Faceit.
• CS2PS: api.cs2ps.com (statistics proxy).
• Skinport: api.skinport.com (item prices).
• Proxy worker: gamerhub-pricempire-proxy.siradje1055.workers.dev — relays Pricempire price data and Faceit lookups. No per-user records, no stored query contents.
• GitHub-hosted game data: raw.githubusercontent.com, bymykel.github.io.
• 3D inspect viewer: 3dview.cs2inspects.com (receives inspect links only when you open it).
• CheapShark: cheapshark.com (in-extension game deals).
• GamerPower: gamerpower.com (free-game alerts).
• FlagsAPI: flagsapi.com (country-flag images; only the two-letter country code is sent).
• Google Fonts: fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com (popup UI fonts).
• CS2 latency: read from your own Steam profile page when you press SCAN. No third-party ping servers.

4. Limited Use Compliance

GamerHub complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do not sell or transfer user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers, and we do not use user data for personalized advertising or any purpose unrelated to the features described here.

5. Permissions Justification

• storage: local preferences, caches, and lists described above.
• notifications: friend-status and free-game alerts you enable.
• alarms: schedule the above background checks.

6. Monetization and Affiliate Disclosure

GamerHub is free. The in-extension "Deals" tab may include links that earn us a commission if you purchase from listed retailers. These links are marked "(Ad)" and never change prices or ranking.

Donations: the optional "Donate" button opens PayPal in a new tab. We never see your payment details.

7. What We Never Do

• We do not collect browsing history, passwords, or payment details.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with data brokers.
• We never transmit your Steam cookie values to us or any third party.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

• Retention: Data persists as long as the extension is installed.
• Deletion: Uninstalling the extension deletes all stored data. API keys and tracked friends can also be removed via in-app settings.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to This Policy & Data Practices

We may update this policy and will revise the version and date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes are also disclosed in the extension's "What's New" window after an update.
